The University of Basrah ranked second in the memorization of all the Qur’an among (40) public and private universities in the seventh national Quranic competition for Iraqi university students under the auspices of the Great Mosque of Kufa Municipality, as well as distinguished participation in the recitation section.
The competition included the participation of a Quranic delegation from Basrah University, which consisted of the fifth stage student at the College of Dentistry, Hassan Abdul-Ridha Abdullah (memorizing the Qur’an) and the second stage student from the College of Chemical Engineering, Hussein Ismail Nimr (Quran recitation) and they were headed by Dr. Badr Abdul Jaleel Al-Mousawi.
The results showed that the University of Basrah ranked second in the memorization of the Qur’an section by the reciter Hassan Abdul-Ridha from the College of Dentistry, and in the recitation Hussein Ismail Nimr. As they competed with the universities of Iraq in memorization and recitation in the Qur’anic competition in the Kufa Mosque.
