The University of Basrah held a memorial ceremony for the second anniversary of the martyrdom of the victory leaders, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and Qassem Soleimani.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an and the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah then the eulogy followed. The President of the University delivered a speech in which he remembered the martyrs and their sacrifices, expressing in his words his gratitude for the sacrifices made by the martyrs that achieved victory and stability in the country.
Sheikh Hamid Al-Halfi also gave a lecture that dealt with two topics, in the first topic he explained the impact of martyrdom and jihad for the sake of God and how it is a duty on man to reach dignity.
As for the second topic he mentioned the duties of each person towards the Mujahideen. Among these duties are commemorating their memory, field presence, virtual attendance and keeping the flag raised. An introductory video was shown during the ceremony about the life of the martyr Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and his heroism.
The ceremony was attended by the deans of all colleges, heads of departments, and many instructors, employees and students of the College of Engineering.
