The instructor at the College of Medicine at the University of Basrah, Dr. Firas Taha Mansour Al-Mubarak, obtained a patent with two researchers for the devise of a new method for detecting all Newcastle viruses in a single enzymatic test.
In the research work, modern laboratory and electronic molecular techniques were used, namely, primer design, RT-PCR, Real Time RT-PCR, Sequencing and Bioinformatics.
