Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research reviewed in light of the confirmation of the effectiveness of university institutions and their local and international reputation, the performance indicators and academic level in the light of their mission and objectives and in harmony with their achieved scores in international ranking, the Ministry announces the results of the (Iraqi Ranking of Universities IRU), which the Quality Assurance of the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Directorate has been working on in the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Directorate.
Higher Education highlighted that the specialists in this file conducted a comprehensive evaluation of eighty-three public and private educational institutions distributed over thirty-six public universities, forty-seven universities and private colleges, eight hundred and seventy-five specialized colleges and one thousand seven hundred and twenty-nine scientific departments.
Higher Education also reviewed that the evaluation included criteria related to the institutional environment and academic programs and their details and values were divided into two groups as the following:
-Institutional performance evaluation criteria, which include quality and institutional accreditation by 20%, international classifications by 15%, effectiveness of scientific research by 20%, community service by 5%, resource maximization by 10%, faculty members by 10%, students by 15%, and international diversity by 5%.
- Criteria for evaluating the performance of scientific departments, which include quality and program accreditation by 35%, effectiveness of scientific research by 30%, faculty members by 20% and students by 15%.
Higher Education said that the published results in (http://mohesr.gov.iq/ar/iru) reviewed that the University of Baghdad obtained the 1st among public universities, while the University’s Future College obtained 1st private universities and colleges, and one hundred and eighty-five departments achieved advanced scores in corresponding specialties.
Higher Education added that in term of recognizing the requirements of quality and academic accreditation, the Ministry continues its procedures and policy in developing the performance of its universities, improving its programs, measuring its graduates and making them compatible with the international developments.
