During the opening activities of the 7th edition of the Knowledge Summit 2022 entitled (Protecting Humanity and Challenging the Pandemic) by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation and in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abdul Sahib confirmed on the Iraqi educational institutions’ keenness on enhancing the Iraqi educational institution and international academic reputation, as well as achieving quality requirements and scientific response for sustainable development.
Dr. Abdul Sahib reviewed that Iraq obtained an important competitive score in the Global Knowledge Index for 2021, which was launched in its 5th edition by the United Nations Development Program and Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, in which Higher Education sector achieved the highest assessment among the Iraqi State sectors related to knowledge.
It is worth mentioning that the knowledge Summit includes attending and virtual sessions on issues of common global concern, options and solutions provided by knowledge contexts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The summit was also attended by the Minister of Education, Mr. Ali Hamid Al-Dulaimi, a number of Iraqi academic staffs and a group of experts and officials from different countries of the world.
