During a meeting with the Emirati counterpart, Hussain Bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abdul Sahib reviewed the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the scientific and academic field and experiences exchange.
Dr. Abdul Sahib said that the two sides agreed to sign a draft memorandum of understanding in the field of higher education and scientific research, as well as memoranda of understanding between the competent Iraqi universities and their Emirati counterparts to grant scholarships for Iraqi students to study in Emirati universities in both university and postgraduate studies, in a way that contributes to achieve scientific and knowledge cooperation.
His Excellency and his Emirati counterpart demonstrated forming of cooperation aspects in the fields of engineering, science and renewable energies, nominating of two specialized universities from Iraq in engineering, science and renewable energies specializations, the mechanisms for nominating the first three top students from each department to join the academic seats that the UAE side expressed its willingness to provide them for Iraqi students who excel in specializations related to artificial intelligence.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by the Minister of Education, Ali Hamid Al-Dulaimi, the Iraqi Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Mudhafar Mustafa Al-Jubouri and the Director-General of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Dr. Hazim Baqir Tahir.
