The President of Basrah University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, participated in the opening ceremony of the Maritime Sports Club stadium in Basra, in the presence of the Minister of Defense Jumaa Inad, the Director General of the General Company for Ports of Iraq, Dr. Farhan Al-Fartousi, and a number of members of the Iraqi Parliament.
The President of the University blessed the great efforts in building this important sports edifice in Basra Governorate, stressing the support of the University for the sports movement at various levels.
It is worth mentioning that the stadium can accommodate five thousand spectators and consists of two five-a-side stadiums, a seven-field, a martial arts hall, and a water desalination plant, as well as other facilities attached to the stadium.
