The Cultural Center at the University of Basrah organized a party on the occasion of the World Orphan's Day in cooperation with the Basra dolls and puppets group, in the presence of a large number of intellectuals and orphanages in Basra.
About the celebration, the director of the center, Dr. Abdel Karim Abboud, said, “The celebration aims to take care of this social segment and open the way for them and their creativity in order to create a new life.
The ceremony included an exhibition of the paintings of the “a Child’s Smile” project, which has been established in the last four years, and the event of face painting, and a theatrical performance of puppets entitled “A Day in School” written and designed by Kholoud Al-Shawi, directed by artist Maher Munther, and presented by Al-Muntazar Muhammad, Reham Abdul-Mahdi, Adian Hossam, Muhammad Mustafa and Maryam Raad.
