The College of Marine Sciences, Department of Applied Marine Sciences, in coordination with the Al-Faw Port Project Authority of the Iraqi Ports Company, organized a scientific trip to the Al-Faw Port project within the marine geophysics course for third-year students.
The activities included visiting the port site and the eastern and western breakwaters and getting acquainted with the volume of the completed and ongoing works, and visiting the Al-Siraj Al-Mudhi’ company’s location and getting to know their work through the presentation that was presented to the students about surveying and detecting marine and war waste.
During the trip, the way of conducting surveys and extract submerged marine targets using human diving was presented practically, and the trip aims to acquaint the students with the work of marine and geophysical surveys in the field.
