Iraqi universities have participated in a training program with the Italian University of Bologna within the Inspire project for the internationalization of higher education and scientific research.
On the sidelines of the program, meetings and dialogues were held between representatives of Iraqi educational institutions and the University of Bologna for international relations, and they agreed to formulate a cooperation mechanism between the University of Bologna and Iraqi universities in the fields of scientific exchange at the level of professors, researchers in postgraduate studies, students of undergraduate studies, research training, publishing, joint supervision, and granting annual fellowships to Iraqi students in the University of Bologna.
The universities participating in the training program are Baghdad, Basra, Mosul, Middle Technical Euphrates, Sumer, Al-Qasim Al-Khadra, Basra Oil and Gas, Wasit, Al-Karkh and South Technology, as well as the representatives of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations.
It is worth mentioning that the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel-Saheb, signed an agreement in the Italian capital, Rome, with his Italian counterpart, Maria Cristina Mesa, on November 27, 2021, regarding a memorandum of understanding regarding the paths of scientific cooperation between the two countries and the enhancement of academic reputation indicators through international partnerships.
