The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah and the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sulaymaniyah signed an agreement of twinning and joint cooperation in the academic fields and raising the scientific and research level.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Adel Jabbar Hussein, Director of Public Relations and Media, representing the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah, with the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sulaymaniyah, Dr. Faridoun Abdul Sattar Muhammad.
The two sides agreed to develop and unify curricula for corresponding disciplines, exchange resources within common disciplines, set up training workshops in the field of teaching methods and laboratories quality for cadres, organize scientific conferences, as well as cooperate in the field of e-learning and perform joint lectures in person or electronically within the specializations for undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
The two parties stressed the need to establish a joint studies research and development center, achieve joint supervision and discussions for postgraduate students, exchange scientific visits for students and cooperate in the field of summer training, in addition to holding periodic scientific debates between students of corresponding specializations.
The Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sulaymaniyah, Dr. Faridoun Abdul Sattar Muhammad, welcomed this agreement, which will remain in force for a period of three years, stressing the implementation of the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the necessity of twinning and joint cooperation between public and private universities.
