The Continuing Education and Development Center at the University of Basrah organized a lecture on measurement and evaluation in education within a development and rehabilitation project.
The lecture aimed to develop the skills of teachers in preparing tests for students and understanding measurement and evaluation in light of modern educational developments.
The lecture, which was presented by Dr. Nidal Issa Abdul-Mudhaffar, included a definition of measurement and evaluation, the criteria of a good test, the functions and types of achievement tests, the difference between assessment and evaluation, as well as the steps for creating and correcting a test.
In the end, the lecture called for changing the prevailing concepts about exams and establishing question banks that include questions for electronic achievement tests for all disciplines that are useful in training those qualified to occupy the teaching profession due to the availability of question models that conform to the required standards.
