The instructor at the College of Law at the University of Basrah, Dr. Etidal Abdul-Baqi Yousef, participated in the international scientific conference, entitled (Women, Technology, Creativity and Development), that was held by the Arab Forum for Women’s Studies and Training in cooperation with the Hun team for Women Empowerment and with the participation of a group of official bodies, research centers and academic institutions in Iraq and the Arab world.
The conference included many topics, the most prominent of which were women and economic development from an Islamic perspective, a proposed vision for empowering women in educational institutions, the role of women in scientific research and its impact on society, and other papers.
The participation included a research paper on the title (Empowerment of Women in Iraqi Laws), which included a comprehensive presentation of the legislation that addressed the legal status of women through its evaluation and knowledge of its fairness and suitability to achieve the international goal of empowering women, most notably what was stated in the permanent Iraqi constitution of 2005 and Labor Law No. 37.
