A master’s thesis at the College of Science at the University of Basrah discussed (the histological and physiological effect of glutamine on induced hypothyroidism in male laboratory rats).
The thesis of researcher Mai Khairallah Ali aims to know the effect of glutamine as an important nutritional factor in preventing the side effects of hypothyroidism.
The study concluded the importance of glutamine in the recovery of thyroid and liver injuries, as well as the strong relationship between hypothyroidism and anemia through changing the level of iron and ferritin, as well as the strong relationship between hypothyroidism and body weight and weight gain in the experimental groups compared with the control and the variable inflammatory response and the influence of both thyroid tissue and liver during stages of hypothyroidism.
