The University of Basrah has adopted the project to discover sports talents in the preparatory stages, which is the first in Iraq.
The project aims to prepare these talents and sports skills, train them and develop their functional and physical capabilities according to specializations, because they will form the basic building block for university teams.
This project included two phases, the first being the preparation of teams headed by professors specialized in tests and measurements whose mission is to discover sports talents, and the second phase is to maintain the university teams and work to rehabilitate them and provide all means and possibilities for their renaissance.
Dr. Majid Ali Musa, the project’s supervisor, stated that Basrah University is serious about discovering sports talents and rehabilitating them scientifically and academically, after high coordination with the Ministry of Education and the Directorate of Sports Activities in Basra.
Musa added that this project is the first experience at the country level, and the University of Basrah was a pioneer in planning and adopting it, and it is considered a major project that we hope all state institutions support.
