During a meeting with the Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabeel Kadim Abdul Sahib said that the two sides reviewed the possibilities of academic cooperation between the two countries and framing cultural exchange programs in light of the context of understanding between Iraqi and Syrian’s Higher Education and Scientific Research’s institutions.
Dr. Abdul Sahib affirmed the commitment of the Ministry and its universities to cultural exchange and academic cooperation with countries in the region and the world.
His Excellency expressed Iraq and its academic institutions’ keenness on developing coordination and enhancing aspects of cultural exchange and sustainable academic cooperation according to the approved limits and standards of scientific sobriety.
Dr. Abdul Sahib demonstrated the Iraqi universities’ readiness on welcoming the Syrian students, offering and exchanging scholarships and fellowships.
For his side, Mr. Al-Dandah expressed the Syrian side’s happiness on the meeting and the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s keenness on developing the fields of cooperation and improving the quality of programs for academic understandings and agreements with countries in the region and the world.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting was attended by the Director-General of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Dr. Hazim Baqir Tahir.
