The Development and Continuing Education Center at the University of Basrah organized an online lecture on verbal and non-verbal communication between the teacher and the student.
The lecture, which is part of a developmental training course for faculty members, aims to focus on the importance of human interaction between the student and the teaching staff for the success of the information transfer process.
The lecture, presented by Dr. Refaat Abdullah Jassim, included an explanation of the types, forms and obstacles of communication, methods of overcoming obstacles, and the competencies that teachers must have to succeed in the teaching profession.
The lecture called for attention to the preparation of the teaching staff on the psychological, personal, social and moral levels, since teaching is one of the professions that requires a set of moral and personal competencies, and that obtaining the highest academic ranks and academic certificates is not sufficient in itself or qualifies to practice the teaching process.
