A research team at the College of Science at the University of Basrah participated in the Fifth International Scientific Conference on Geosciences at the University of Sulaymaniyah.
The participation included the presentation of a paper by Dr. Muhannad Hamid Al-Jabri and researcher Adyan Ali Mizban entitled (Deposiontal study of the lower Saadi Formation, Southern Iraq), which included the study of sedimentary structures, mineral changes, and alteration processes of the pulpal models of formation.
Dr. Maher Mandeel and researcher Rana Tahsin also presented a scientific paper entitled (Microfacies Analysis and Depositional Environment of Yamama Formation (Berriasian _Valanginian, Southern Iraq), which included the use of several fossils to understand the sedimentary environment of the Yamama Formation in the West Qurna field.
Dr. Wasan Sobeih Hamdan participated in a paper entitled (Modeling the interaction between fluids and rocks to improve oil recovery in the Mishref Formation, Halfaya Oil Field in Maysan Governorate), which included a study of the chemical and physical properties of the formation water of the Halfaya Formation Mushrif field and its conformity with six models of surface water taken from different sources.
