The College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basrah discussed a PhD thesis entitled (The American Air Force and its Role in the World War II 1939-1945).
Researcher Issa Saad Issa's thesis dealt with the US Air Force and its role in the Allies' victory in World War II by drying up the German military industry's resources, supporting the ground forces and landing supplies, in an attempt to neutralize the Axis forces and their retreat, thus declaring their surrender in the middle of 1945.
The thesis aims to show the impact of the strategic aerial bombardment carried out by the aircraft of the US Air Force through the progress of the ground forces and the reduction of human losses for the Allied forces.
The study concluded that the force was well able to turn the tide of war in favor of the allies and to adopt the method of attack instead of defense.
