The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah discussed a master’s thesis titled (energy taxes and their repercussions on international oil markets with special reference to Iraq for the period 2011-2020).
The thesis of the researcher Umm al-Binin Saleh Jaber aims to explain the nature of energy taxes, international oil markets and international policies in the global energy balance, and to clarify the taxes imposed on raw points in consuming countries, especially carbon taxes.
The thesis concluded that the taxes imposed on oil consumption by the major industrialized consuming countries will negatively affect the economies of the crude oil-producing countries and that the imposition of taxes has different effects on the crude oil markets.
