A master's thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basrah discussed "analysis of examination questions for postgraduate studies in light of the quality standards of examination questions in the College of Education for Human Sciences"
The thesis of researcher Wafaa Abbas Laibi dealt with analyzing the examination questions for postgraduate studies to identify the availability of quality standards for the questions in them. An analysis card was made, which consisted of (46) paragraphs distributed on six main criteria.
The thesis came to several conclusions, including the fact that all the scientific departments have a clear interest in the technical output of the examination questions and the language formulation, and that there is a general agreement among all departments that the examination questions for postgraduate studies did not take into account the diversity in the questions (essays, objectivity) and this was evident in the focus on essay questions. The focus was also on the lower levels of knowledge represented by memorization and understanding, and the lack of interest in the higher levels of knowledge represented by analysis, evaluation and creativity.
