The University of Basrah inaugurated the first completed group of its (56) residential houses, which were built in the Bab Al-Zubair colleges complex to ease the housing crisis for the teaching staff.
On the opening, the university president, Prof. Saad Shaheen, said, “With great effort from the people supervising the project from the Diwan Affairs Department, the Construction and Projects Department, and the assigned committee, we were able to complete the first group of the houses, with great work and great achievement. While the completion of the rest of the houses has reached 95%, and the remaining percentage is related to supplying the house with electricity, which requires the concerted efforts of the Qibla District Electricity Department related to the installation of electrical power generators, and all families will move to the houses within a month”.
