A scientific study at the College of Science at the University of Basrah prepared by Wathiq Fahim Shanin and Dr. Sabah Mahdi Amin examined the long-term plasmon hybridization with the presence of an effective InGaAsP grading layer on an InP substrate.
The study was published in the Journal of Advanced Engineering Science, classified within Scopus containers Q3 with the classification number ISSN: 2096-3246.
The study included increasing the diffusion length of the hybrid plasmon guide using the installation of an InGaAsP active grading layer on an InP substrate.
The results of the study concluded that by using the gradient in the refractive index of the active layer, it was possible to improve the quantitative confinement and the diffusion length compared to the traditional refractive indexes. A multiple diffusion length of 40 um is achieved with better isolation compared to conventional hybrid methods.
