A group of professors from the University of Basrah obtained accreditation certificates for training in several fields from the OPITO organization for the development of the global offshore oil industry.
This stage is one of the requirements for starting work for the global training center in the field of oil industries, which will provide its services to Iraq and the region.
The President of the University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, affirmed the university's endeavor to take its role in marketing its scientific and academic expertise to various sectors, especially oil, because of its great importance in the region, and this center will work to market these experiences after obtaining international accreditation.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Ramzi Salem, stated that this achievement is the result of the hard and continuous work of the university presidency and the College of Engineering, and that all capabilities were harnessed for the success of this project because of its promising future prospects at all levels.
Dr. Muhammad Nasser Faris stated that this project is the result of the joint cooperation between the university, the Basra Gas Company and the OPITO International Organization, stressing that the graduation of the first group of trainers accredited by the OPITO organization will enable the center to start work during the next few months and provide its services not only to companies in Iraq, but also to the region and neighboring countries, which enhances the academic reputation of the university and reflects positively on its classification in international standards.
