The instructor and the official of the Women's Empowerment Unit at the University of Basrah, Wafaa Hasaj Al-Mayahi, received the Distinguished Basra Woman Shield and a letter of thanks and appreciation from the Basra Governorate Bureau.
Wafaa stated that the honoring came after a celebration held by the Bureau on the occasion of International Women's Day, which included honoring a large group of active women in the Basra community under the slogan (Iraqi women as a partner in sustainable development), and that the Governorate Bureau gives the university special attention and great attention as it represents the educated, conscious and giving segment and the source of development in Basra.
