A master's thesis in the College of Fine Arts at the University of Basrah discussed awareness-raising in conceptual art and its effectiveness in Iraqi society, an applied study.
The thesis presented by the researcher Ali Adel Fouad included the subject of conceptual art, which is considered a non-verbal language, and just as a person conveys his thoughts through speech, he can convey ideas, information and instructions through this art, as it is the first language of expression used by human.
The thesis aimed to explain that conceptual art presents an applied study on its nature and effectiveness in Iraqi society, as it was able to transform the idea into a visual image with two dimensions.
The thesis concluded that the process of communication in the field of awareness through conceptual art is a specialized process based on evidence and ideas and has its foundations and principles, and therefore the strangeness of the works enhances the consolidation of information in the mind of the recipient.
