A PhD thesis in the College of Science at the University of Basrah, entitled (a physiological and histological study of thyroid cancer patients in Basra Governorate), was discussed.
The thesis of the researcher, Ali Reda Hussein, included a study of the effect of some physiological parameters, such as the hormones leptin, choline, vitamin D, insulin hormone, blood sugar level, histology, and the level of nitroleukin-4 in the tissues of patients with thyroid cancer.
The results showed the possibility of using the level of interleukin-4 as a tool to identify patients with thyroid cancer, and that insulin resistance is one of the risk factors for thyroid cancer.
