A master's thesis at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Basrah discussed the artistic contrast in the productions of theatrical pantomime performance.
The thesis presented by the researcher Saif El-Din Ala El-Din Mohamed included the formation of a scientific and academic study in the field of theatrical directing on the contrast in the art of theatrical pantomime through the diversity of directing methods, methods of employment, engagement and dealing with the elements of theatrical performance in building the theatrical image of the pantomime theater and relying on body language and silent movements in delivering this art.
The thesis aims to raise many issues that link between the art of pantomime and the directorial methods that correspond to the pattern of privacy of this art.
The thesis concluded that the art of pantomime constitutes a different model in determining the directorial capabilities towards the relationship between the director and the actor.
