The Department of Geology, College of Science, University of Basrah, organized a field work trip to Dohuk Governorate.
The trip aims to apply all the theoretical information that was taught to students during their scientific career in the department and apply the practical foundations in the field.
On its first day of field work, the trip included a comprehensive reconnaissance tour to the field sites and a general explanation of the geology, composition and rock stratigraphy of the region.
During which evening theoretical lectures were given to train the students on the structural practical side and the method of taking field measurements, in addition to explaining the geology of the development of formations and their rocks.
It is worth mentioning that the field work trip is part of the field geology course C302.
