Students of the College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah carved a human tooth model for the purpose of installing it in the college, symbolizing the nature of work in it.
Dr. Salman Abd al-Sahib Atshan, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, who supervises the steps of making the model, said, "We welcomed the idea of designing a model of tooth among several artistic activities proposed by the students, and we supported them and followed up on the work until it is completed and installed in the appropriate place within the college building.
The student Hussein Makki and the student Aya Ismail, who are in charge of sculpting the model, stated that the idea of the project included the design of an iron structure in the form of a tooth, and it was wrapped with building materials that are resistant to external conditions, and the use of special tools to carve the details of the model and paint it with several layers that give an appearance that raises the beholder’s astonishment in terms of the external appearance similar to the color of the natural tooth.
