The University of Basrah ran its fleet of dozens of buses of different capacities to participate in transporting the visitors of Abi Abdullah Al-Hussein, peace be upon him, while the university’s convoy will soon start to participate in the annual review of Iraq’s universities on the day of Arbaeen, with the participation of thousands of faculty, staff and students.
The President of the University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, said, "Participation in serving visitors represents one of the values that characterize the Iraqi people, which made them the focus of human attention because of the epics of Husseini's unique generosity."
Hammadi continued, "This year, our university expanded its participation in the great demonstration of generosity, through several fields, including medical and treatment services provided to visitors, running its own transport fleet, and making it at the service of visitors to Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, throughout the days of the visit, since the visitation season is no longer a day." Just one, but several days, which is heart-warming."
The president of the university added, "The million numbers are increasing year after year, and the preliminary statistics this year indicate that the numbers exceed the numbers of the past years by several times, and in line with the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the University of Basrah will continue to transfer visitors and serve them as the first border point in the south of the country, which receives the biggest quota and the most honorable in terms of the millions of numbers that pass through its lands towards the land of Hussein, peace be upon him, in the holy Karbala.
