The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah has allocated a medical detachment on the road connecting the governorates of Nasiriyah and the Holy Karbala to provide health and treatment services to visitors on foot on the occasion of the Arbaeen visit.
The dean of the college and the person in charge of the detachment, Dr. Falah Hassan Shri, said, “In an initiative that the visitors counted on the mission, a group of professors and employees of the college set up a female doctor’s detachment on the road connecting the Batha area and the holy Karbala for the purpose of providing medical and therapeutic services to the visitors and the owners of the processions stationed on the road. The detachment was established with voluntary efforts by our staffs, and it was distinguished by the presence of female medical staff to provide services to women engaged in the visitors’ service processions as well as female visitors. Painkillers, muscle relaxants, anti-diarrheal and antacid injections, and other medical supplies such as cushions, belts, devices for checking sugar and blood pressure, and all that the visitor needs in terms of medical and therapeutic assistance during their journey.
It is note mentioning that the initiative of the College of Pharmacy is held on a regular annual basis on the occasion of the fortieth day of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) as part of voluntary activities to serve the community.
