Basrah University ,College of Pharmacy, recently organized
a discussion session about (the preparation of pharmaceutical compounds that function as antibiotics, featuring the participation of researchers and specialists.)
The discussion session, which was presented by Zeina Abdul Ali Jaber, focused on activating the functionality of dibenzo-18-crown-6-ether for the synthesis of unsaturated alpha-beta keto compounds (chalcones) through chemical reactions with aromatic aldehydes. These compounds possess pharmacological properties such as antibacterial and antifungal activities.
Congratulations to the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basra for organizing this informative and important discussion on pharmaceutical compounds and their potential applications in the field of antibiotics.
