A Master's thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basra discussed the design of an intelligent control feature for soft robotic systems. The thesis, which was presented by student Heba Ali Mohsen, addressed the theoretical design of various control system methods using MATLAB/SIMULINK, including Bang-Bang, Proportional-Integral (PI), Artificial Neural Network (NN), and Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC), with a focus on controlling the length of Pneumatic Muscle Actuators (PMA). The thesis concluded that soft continuous arms could be useful for diagnosing and examining certain upper digestive system conditions, with potential future development for minor surgical procedures.
