Basrah University organizes an awareness seminar to combat violence against women
The Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Center at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the College of Education for Girls, organized an awareness symposium within the campaign to combat violence against women entitled (Investing communities to stop violence against women: the role of community participation and financing)
The symposium aims to educate female students and graduates to know their social and cultural needs to advance their situation, support them, develop them and motivate them, as well as enhance their societal role as they are a basic building block for building an intellectually and economically developed society.
The symposium, which was lectured by the Director of the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Center, Dr. Enas Abdel Aziz Al-Nasser, and a group of female activists in the field of combating violence against women, included a definition of what violence is and its types, and how to identify the problems rooted in society that cause acts of violence, along with the importance of concerted efforts to eliminate it.
