The University of Basra begins implementing the joint educational program with the Federal Integrity Commission
According to the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the University of Basra began implementing the joint educational program with the Federal Integrity Commission in the presence of deans of colleges and directors of departments, centers, and job cadres at the university.
The program aimed to enhance the culture of integrity in cooperation with educational institutions to prevent and combat corruption and adopt transparency in all aspects of the state.
The program included a number of seminars held at the university, and the legal advisor at the Federal Integrity Commission, Samir Faraj Muhammad, lectured at the symposium held at the presidency of the University of Basra, in which he addressed the promotion of a culture of integrity and ethical behavior in the field of public service with the presence of a deterrent law and an awareness program implemented with thoughtful scientific steps and spreading fair cooperation. The President of the University of Basra, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, stressed the importance of strengthening the concepts of integrity and transparency in building public sector institutions, along with the necessity of spreading the values of integrity and combating corruption, which is a shared national responsibility, expressing his hope that everyone will adhere to the requirements of the rule of law standard as one of the main standards of national integrity.
Shaheen added that universities should propose a path that enhances the concepts of integrity and transparency and constitutes a preventive factor against forms of corruption. He also called for expanding the scope of scientific research to include prevention concepts and mechanisms, supporting at the same time the important preventive role of the Integrity Commission by spreading awareness and carrying out preventive measures such as reviewing legislation and regulations and recommending their development. .
