University of Basrah documents its research in the field of sustainability in international journals
In a research precedent that occurred for the first time at University of Basrah, the head of the Department of Economic Studies at the Center for Basrah and Arabian Gulf Studies, Dr. Tariq Tawfiq Youssef, published research on sustainability and innovation in an international magazine classified within Clarivate Analytics (Web of Science) in the field of management accounting and innovation. The research, which was titled MANAGEMENT OF INNOVATIONS IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, AND GOVERNANCE SCORES AND SUSTAINABILITY PERFORMANCE THROUGH ESG DISCLOSURE: EVIDENCE FROM EMERGING MARKETS Determining how the sustainability performance of industrial companies and their ESG scores relate to each other, the research was concerned with evaluating the management of innovations in the manufacturing sector in terms of ESG performance ratings in Turkey based on the Refinitiv Eikon list. The research results show that managing innovations in the sustainability performance of the manufacturing sector in Turkey is strongly influenced by all environmental, social and governance issues (social, governance and environmental outcomes), making it a vital issue from the perspective of the field of management accounting.
