University of Basrah receives a delegation from UNESCO
The College of Engineering at University of Basrah received a delegation from UNESCO The delegation received Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid and Dr. Hamid Hayab Samir. During the meeting, details of the cooperation mechanism that were to be agreed upon were discussed regarding the capacity building project for students, especially in the field of architectural preservation, which the organization intends to initiate in cooperation with College of Engineering. The mechanisms were also discussed during the meeting. And the necessary means to raise the level of community awareness on the issue of local heritage and the necessity of preserving it, and the role that University of Basrah can play in this field through developing educational curricula as well as holding conferences, seminars and workshops that work to educate the community and decision-makers about the importance of preserving the local heritage of the city of Basra.
