The University of Basra organizes a workshop on solid scientific publishing for graduate students The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basra organized a workshop entitled (Conditions and standards for solid scientific publishing) The workshop included a lecture given by Dr. Osama Ayoub Yacoub, in which he explained how to choose the appropriate scientific journal for publication, how to choose the content, and stay away from fake and commercial journals, according to the instructions of the Research and Development Department. Graduate students were also trained on how to publish and choose appropriate journals for the research received from their dissertations. They also discussed how to browse the Scopus website, download the updated Excel sheet on a monthly basis, ensure the presence of journals in the database, and how to enter the Bell website for fake journals to avoid publishing in them, as well as adopting the official link. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has the authority to detect and avoid counterfeit journals, and there are penalties issued to those who publish in counterfeit journals according to the Ministry’s instructions.
