Expanding the partnership between the University of Basra and UNICEF to provide clean energy The Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Basra, Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, received in his office a delegation from the United Nations Motherhood and Childhood Fund (UNICEF) to discuss ways of cooperation in implementing programs to provide clean energy in Basra Governorate. During the meeting, Rashid stressed the efforts made in the field of awareness and community participation to confront climate change and activate the delivery of solar energy to rationalize electricity consumption. Rashid also pointed out the importance of cooperation with UNICEF in the areas of awareness and dissemination of electricity conservation messages, praising the role of UNICEF and its support for the college’s efforts in targeting its programs towards providing clean energy.
