University Basrah inaugurated an orchard for Date Palms and evergreen plants within the activities of the Million Tree Planting Project, President of the University, Dr. Saad Shahin Hammadi said.
Dr. Hammadi reviewed expanding the green areas in the University and the province by planting various kinds of palm trees and evergreen plants as windbreaks and distributing them to the various regions of the province.
Dr. Hammadi added that the project including reclamation of (2000) square meters of Basrah University gardens, planting the trees of the One Million Tree Project, with 90 date Palms and 75 different trees from Acacia, Burham, and Sidr, as well as planting green spaces between the trees.
