University of Basrah celebrated and honored its innovators from among the teaching staff, who contributed with their research to advance the position of the university locally and globally in international rankings, in the presence of a number of officials in the governorate.
The President of University of Basrah, Dr. Saad Shahin Hammadi, honored a number of instructors who obtained six points or more in the Hirsch laboratories (h-index), or more than ten Scopus researches (123 professors) and praised their great role and their continuous work in publishing their research and scientific achievements in various scientific sites and journals, and their registration and inclusion within the international classifications.
The president of the university mentioned “we attended today to honor a group of our teaching staff who had a great and effective role in highlighting the identity of our university and its activities, as well as its participation in international classifications with the quality and the wealth of research”.
Shahin added that the university is encouraging its instructors to move forward in researches and development, as they have taken the lead in enriching the scientific and health movement, not only at the level of theoretical scientific research, but they also had a great role in fighting the Corona pandemic by providing what health services need from the requirements for diagnosis and treatment of the Corona epidemic over eight months with the testimony of the World Health Organization and others after obtaining accreditation.
It is worth mentioning that University of Basrah has achieved advanced positions in international classifications, as it ranked first in the British Times classification and second in the (RUR) Russian classification.
