The College of Pharmacy at University of Basrah discussed the master’s thesis entitled (Preparation and evaluation of nanoparticles for the drug Aceclofenac to increase solubility and give it in the form of a topical gel) by student Aseel Kazem Thamer.
The study aimed to prepare and evaluate different formulations of Aceclofenac nano-suspension by precipitation method using different variables related to polymer type and quantity and organic solvent in order to obtain the most acceptable formula with regard to nanoparticle size and distribution, in addition to laboratory preparing and evaluation of hydrogel containing nano-Aceclofenac suspension to use it as a system for drug delivery features a high drug release rate and improved permeability.
The study concluded the possibility of preparing the drug Aceclofenac with industrially suitable formulas and a suitable laboratory method with good specifications that allow to increase the rate of solubility in water and increase the proportion of the drug available for the purpose of crossing the layers of the skin in a case that has been clinically evaluated to have better drug efficacy.
