The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Saheb, inaugurated a monument of the Iraqi physicist Dr. Abdul-Jabbar Abdullah at the University of Baghdad.
In his speech during the ceremony which was attended by the President of the University of Baghdad and a group of assistants, deans, teachers and students, he stressed the need to pay attention to the history of Iraqi scientists and academics and celebrate their achievements, especially those who wrote a distinguished biography in international forums and recorded a distinctive impact in the history of the Iraqi university institution.
He explained that Iraq, throughout its national space, is full of scientific figures and phenomena that make it a historical incubator of science and knowledge, pointing out that the great Iraqi scientist, Dr. Abdul-Jabbar Abdullah, represents that authentic Iraqi depth, which is mixed with science and academic knowledge, and distinguished by a spirit of creativity and excellence.
The participants praised the initiative of the College of Fine Arts and the artwork made by the sculptor Dr. Ihab Al-Asadi, while they recorded their praise for the artistic activities held on the sidelines of the opening of the monument.
