The President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih, received on Monday, August 23 2021, at the Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Saheb.
The President of the Republic stressed the need to protect the reliability of academic education and the scientific independence of universities, support and expand various scientific and cultural specializations in accordance with the developments of time,as well as to pay attention to the needs of professors and students and overcome obstacles and problems that face them.
He added that Iraqi universities have a good reputation in international forums, despite the difficulties they faced in previous periods, calling for strengthening cooperation with international universities and benefiting from international experiences, in order for Iraqi universities to be within the best of their counterparts in the countries of the world.
For his part, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Saheb, thanked the President of the Republic for the directives, reviewing the ministry's work progress, its future plans and the challenges facing the higher education sector in the country.
