The College of Education for Women at the University of Basrah organized, as part of Reda project, an electronic lecture entitled “The phenomenon of divorce in Iraqi society, its causes and methods of treatment.”
The lecture, which was presented by lawyer Walid Noaman, included several areas, touching on the reasons that lead to divorce, as well as ways to treat this phenomenon by focusing both spouses on the positive matters between them and leaving focusing on the negatives of each other, understanding and clarity between the two parties and agreeing to solve the problems, delaying marriage until after adolescence, limiting parents' interference between spouses and not provoking negative matters and quarrels.
The lecture recommended the need to reduce this very dangerous phenomenon because of its repercussions that break families and destroy society, in addition to conducting more educational seminars and awareness lectures, and warning against the spread of this dangerous phenomenon.
