The College of Science - University of Basrah, organized a scientific lecture on flow cytometry and its applications in biological research.
The lecture aimed to clarify the basis and benefit of using the flow cytometry device in medical and laboratory applications, which speeds up the diagnosis process for immune, physiological, hematological and organic diseases, as well as increasing the qualitative value of scientific research in the fields of therapeutic and research applications.
The lecture, which was presented by Dr. Muslim Idan Mohsen from the Department of Pathological Analysis at the College of Science - University of Kufa, included a statement of the importance of the flow cytometry device in biological sciences and modern techniques for measuring the level of protein present in vital cells as well as the level of protein expression in the surface of cells, and this gives a great impression for the detection of diseases and immune and cancer markers through the use of this technique.
The lecture also dealt with the basis of the work of this device and how to benefit from it in biological research, as well as a simplified explanation about the mechanism of use and how to analyze its results, in addition to how to make a plan for each experiment separately and the benefits of the device in terms of quality in the scientific content of practical experiments.
