Google scholar was searched from 2014 to 2021 using the following keywords: radiation dose, dosimeters in dentistry, types of dosimeters, Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) radiation. The references of selected papers were also analyzed. Articles were chosen that fit the criterion for utilizing dosimeters in dentistry applications. This review was separated into four sections: (1) biological impacts of radiation, (2) dosimeter characteristics, (3) dosimeter kinds, and (4) the findings of numerous investigations employing various dosimeters.
