Salah S. Hashim is a highly accomplished professor of chemistry, with extensive experience in the field of polymers. He obtained his B.Sc. in chemistry, M.Sc. in physical chemistry, and Ph.D. in polymer chemistry, all with first honors, from the University of Basrah in Iraq. He has since gained experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as holding several positions within the chemistry and polymer technology polymer research center at Basrah University.
He has published several theses and papers on his research interests, which include ablative materials, semi-conductor polymers, permeable membranes, and polymer composites. He has also been granted several patents, including a synthesis of new fire retardant resins, synthesis of new polymer-containing drugs for delivery systems, and the use of sodium phthalate as an anticorrosion agent in the petroleum industry.
Salah S. Hashem has attended and presented at numerous conferences, both nationally and internationally. He is a member of several scientific societies, including the Iraqi Chemistry Society, Iraqi Polymer Society, and the American Chemical Society. He has been recognized for his achievements and contributions to the field of chemistry with several prizes, including National Day of Scientific six times, Gold and Silver medals for inventions exhibitions, and the 1st degree in chemistry for inventions exhibition
